jperras: i just thought that: if more than x ppl have that article on his/her list, it is more likely to be of interest for other people. |
# |
Feb 18th 2009, 12:33 |
jperras |
d1rk: put it in the random thoughts, and in the use cases |
# |
Feb 18th 2009, 12:32 |
jperras |
but the dataset that the bakery will generate will not be anything close to what would be needed to produce any sort of semi-intelligent rec eng. |

Feb 18th 2009, 12:32 |
d1rk |
jperras: thank you. Do you think it is enough to put them on the use-case list? Or do i have to explain that further somewhere in the wiki? |
# |
Feb 18th 2009, 12:32 |
jperras |
I think a 'favourites' list is a good idea |
# |
Feb 18th 2009, 12:32 |
d1rk |
jperras: yeah. recommendation is not important right now. But starting to produce data, that can be used for it is important. |

i find myself looking for articles on bakery for more than 10 times. If i would have them in something like a remember-list i would just login, click that list and have a look over that small list. |

jperras |
let's put the recommendation engine on th back burner |
# |
Feb 18th 2009, 12:30 |
d1rk |
that way, one could categorize (relevant) content of the bakery for oneself. |
# |
Feb 18th 2009, 12:29 |
d1rk |
i think, one could query against most-faved articles so to have another possibility to teaser or highlight articles in a way. |
# |
Feb 18th 2009, 12:29 |
d1rk |
i added two use-cases: # bookmark/fav other's articles in personal profile # find bookmarked/faved articles |

I don't do that much design, actually ;-) |

d1rk: a sharp #2 pencil. sometimes with an eraser. |

Feb 18th 2009, 12:25 |
d1rk |
jperras: ok. And what is your design-tool of choice? |
# |
Feb 18th 2009, 12:24 |
jperras |
d1rk: omnigrafle usually, but I've been meaning to try out Balsamiq |

Feb 18th 2009, 12:13 |
jperras |
alkemann: no, I'm not going that far. More like where should the search box go, left or right navigation, etc. |
# |
Feb 18th 2009, 12:13 |
alkemann |
gotta seperate the two so the graphic designer doesnt design application flow |
# |
Feb 18th 2009, 12:13 |
jperras |
which are pretty much just a pdf with the broad outlines of the elements of a sit. |
# |
Feb 18th 2009, 12:13 |
alkemann |
ok. cause when i think of mockups im thinking about app design. ugly bugly trying to figure out what elements, info, buttons and links need to be on a page |
# |
Feb 18th 2009, 12:12 |
jperras |
most web graphic designers start from wireframes |
# |
Feb 18th 2009, 12:11 |
jperras |
alkemann: precisely |
# |
Feb 18th 2009, 12:07 |
alkemann |
so its a graphic design tool more than a app design tool? |
# |
Feb 18th 2009, 12:07 |
jperras |
web mockups are usually barebones, with only the broad outlines of where items and images will be placed |
# |
Feb 18th 2009, 12:06 |
jperras |
alkemann: that's not too far from the truth, actually |
# |
Feb 18th 2009, 12:04 |
alkemann |
jperras: when u say wireframes, I (coming from a 3d graphics background) see strange images of a website with just outlines/strokes |

alkemann: yeah, i remember. I had a look in the 2.0 branch some months ago. Did it change much since then? |
# |
Feb 18th 2009, 11:40 |
d1rk |
alkemann: sure. I will do some processing on my thoughts. I guess, there is no signal if i just share random ideas. |

master being empty and "2.0.x.x" having current code situatation |

Feb 18th 2009, 11:40 |

d1rk: no, atm we have a master branch and a "2.0.x.x" branch |
