i havent heard of rank 90 tennis player beating rank 1 and becoming rank 1... they just get closer to rank 1 and rank 1 will lose points if he looses |

most ladders I have seen are singular like I have described, used in tennis/squash/badminton clubs to avoid having to turn up for tournaments at the same time |

in your system they now have 70 points, and tie for rank 3, and you have no idea of the madness that would ensure if rank 3 lost there rank based on alphabetical order or whatever is next :P |
