I am not submitting the id, or at least. It’s not making it into the patched entity, perhaps that’s why |

If I post the primary key of an association, it shouldn’t be create a new entity should it? My code is doing that and I can’t think why |

aha, there we go, did the saveAssociated against the wrong part of the data :) |

so I've got a HABTM association saving in cake2 using saveAssociated, but when I put the associated model in the find, I get back an empty array. I'm 99.8% sure I've set the HABTM up right, any thoughts on how to debug the assocation? |

I was thinking of encrypting user's data in database somehow with user's pincode or password... Not sure how to do it... |

frontend. (without a developer) the exchange of templates and placeholders works. (STMP and X-headers don't work here) |

hi everyone, is here anyone who had to use an API of an email provider instead of STMP? is there a possible way to extend the Email Class? I need more parameters in the email class... What's done so far: I created a custom transport. It works, but now i need to extend the params.( i need to add some ids and placeholders...etc.) Use case: In general the support staff should be able to create email templates in the email provider configuration |

the Collection is a good way to work on data(structures): https://book.cakephp.org/3.0/en/core-libraries/collections.html |
# |
Feb 13th 2018, 08:15 |

if its not in the database, you need different means of working with the data anyways... |
# |
Feb 13th 2018, 08:14 |
hmic |
you could - and imho should - still try to use the great features the orm has to offer, even though you cannot use it up to its best, because of your existing database structure |
# |
Feb 13th 2018, 08:14 |
javier_rodri1989 |
the problem is that it's a php file and I can't use the orm |
# |
Feb 13th 2018, 08:14 |
hmic |
no ORM stuff on there. |
# |
Feb 13th 2018, 08:13 |
hmic |
everything on this page can and should be used as a pure database abstraction layer: https://book.cakephp.org/3.0/en/orm/database-basics.html |
# |
Feb 13th 2018, 08:11 |
hmic |
even though you dont follow conventions and might not want table classes, you can still utilize the ORM to a good extent, at least the basic database layer. |
# |

hmic |
are you talking PDO or ORM? |
# |
Feb 13th 2018, 08:09 |
javier_rodri1989 |
Because I don't follow the structure of the framework. But I don't know if you can do it the way I want... anyway the PDO connection doesn't work for me. |

@javier_rodri1989 why are you avoiding connections by PDO? |
# |
Feb 13th 2018, 08:05 |

good morning, I have a doubt, I want to create a pluggin that serves to make database queries in a flat php... this to avoid making connection by PDO... can you do this? |

@ricksaccous Thanks! Single checkbox is boolean, you are right. I'm looking for a belongsToMany kind of behavoir... |

Fellow cake-people. I know it's not entirely cakephp-related but still. I have an app which is basically an online store, hence it's holding a lot of images, 10gb+. I also have a dev-server. Is there an easy and smooth way of updating the dev server with images from the master repo? |

Is the data in the database the same? I mean in terms of no of records? Maybe some required indices are missing... |

In a model form I can use the form helper like this: $this->Form->control('tags._ids'). How do I have to configure the schema of the modelless form? What's the name of the control? |
# |

Hi! Is it possible, in a modelless form, to have a field which basically behaves like a list of checkboxes as if it was a belongsToMany association on a normal model form? |
