I need to use cells to load data coming from a webservice based on Microsoft NAV, but the connector to the webservice and its api is in a component: I have copied the same code to a model and works because usign Table registry I can create an instance of the model table, but I am not happy with this “cheat” |

Doesn’t seem to be from looking at the Cell class |

btw is there a way in a cell to use a component ? |

rudy1976s |
thank you |

Nov 24th 2017, 09:39 |
neon1024 |
The only way it wouldn’t work is if you overloaded it with your own code somewhere in the chain |
# |
Nov 24th 2017, 09:39 |
neon1024 |
As you’re just extending the class and `loadHelper()` is a method in the View class |
# |
Nov 24th 2017, 09:39 |
neon1024 |
I don’t see why you wouldn’t be able to |

@neon1024 yesterday I followed your hints but extending the view class i was not able to load an helpers in the new view |

neon1024 |
Yes, it is :slightly_smiling_face: |

In a template `$this` is an instance of View class right? |

I would just rewrite your code so those errors dont happen |
# |
Nov 23rd 2017, 22:20 |
ziemmowit |
for eg. try { [code here] } catch(\PDOException $e) { return $this->redirect(['action' => 'search']); } Renders 500. When I tried \Exception also didn't worked. |
# |
Nov 23rd 2017, 21:56 |
slackebot2 |
the exception is catched faster by Cake and generates error 500; |

Hello, does anybody knows how can I catch exceptions in query in controllers? $stars = $this->Stars->find('all'); $stars->join([ 'coo' => [ 'table' => 'coordinates', 'type' => 'LEFT', 'conditions' => 'coo.star_id = Stars.id']]); $stars->distinct(['Stars.id']); $stars->where($str); $stars->limit(100); I would like to to catch the error when `id` or `$str` will generate an error. When I try simple try/catch() nothing happens - seems like |
