# Nov 15th, 10:41 Benjamin3 Thanks a lot!
# Nov 15th, 10:41 Benjamin3 That's an interesting approach, sadly doesn't work for postgres, but i'll have a look if i can steal some ideas there for an own solution :-)
# Nov 15th, 10:37 challgren @benjamin3 try https://github.com/FriendsOfCake/fixturize
# Nov 15th, 10:36 Benjamin3 ?
# Nov 15th, 10:36 Benjamin3 But: Is there any way to keep the fixtures imported and not throw them away and reimport them after each test=
# Nov 15th, 10:35 Benjamin3 This seems to be a bit slow (not a problem by itself, schema introspection may take a bit of time
# Nov 15th, 10:35 Benjamin3 Load Test fixtures (Schema only) by public $import = ['model' =>TableName'];
# Nov 15th, 10:34 Benjamin3 Hello everyone, i'm using cakephp 3.8 with phpunit. I'm running Tests that
# Nov 15th, 10:32 chris-andre Cache is cleared.
# Nov 15th, 10:30 chris-andre Hi people! I have created a plugin inside `app_root/plugins/Bronnoysund` with AppController and BrregController and view files. On dev server (homestead) I can navigate to `domain.test/bronnoysund/brreg` and it works as expected. On prod. server (CloudLinux 6, apache) I get an error with the same url params: `Controller Brreg is not found`. Is a typical mistake for this error?
# Nov 15th, 08:27 jotpe thanks @kevin.pfeifer
# Nov 15th, 08:27 admad only one way to find out :slightly_smiling_face:
# Nov 15th, 08:27 kgb.acct.personal Does that guarantee that I won't run into max memory allocated error?
# Nov 15th, 08:24 admad @kgb.acct.personal disable results casting too, that will for e.g stop wasting memory converting datetime string to objects
# Nov 15th, 08:21 kevin.pfeifer @jote
# Nov 15th, 08:21 kgb.acct.personal I'll look into it. Thanks :+1:
# Nov 15th, 08:20 kgb.acct.personal That makes sense. Also the thing about CSV streaming
# Nov 15th, 08:19 admad error hydration not marshalling
# Nov 15th, 08:18 admad turn off query buffering and marshalling
# Nov 15th, 08:18 admad depending on how you fetched the data, i might be the resultset eating up the memory, not the generated csv
# Nov 15th, 08:17 kgb.acct.personal Not that large but "max allowed memory" error is triggered when large amount of data is queried for export
# Nov 15th, 08:16 admad exactly how large is "large"?
# Nov 15th, 08:15 admad unbuffered query and stream to csv file
# Nov 15th, 08:14 kgb.acct.personal @admad I mean from table to CSV :cakephp:
# Nov 15th, 08:13 admad @kgb.acct.personal one way is: directly load csv file into temp database table, perform cleanup / alterations required, then copy/move rows to required table
# Nov 15th, 08:12 jotpe Unfortunately my Client wants xlsx output :S
# Nov 15th, 08:11 kgb.acct.personal Speaking of CSVs. What strategy do you use when exporting large amount of data?
# Nov 15th, 08:11 admad wisest choice is to generate CSVs :slightly_smiling_face:
# Nov 15th, 08:07 jotpe or better use PHPExcel directly?
# Nov 15th, 08:07 jotpe and https://github.com/robotusers/cakephp-excel
# Nov 15th, 08:07 jotpe https://github.com/dakota/CakeExcel
# Nov 15th, 08:07 jotpe What's a wise choice to generate Excel Files? Awesome list has 2 Excel Plugins, but both updated 3years ago.
# Nov 15th, 07:08 jotpe Morning, people! And thanks @admad
# Nov 14th, 20:06 alexmax I find it a bit strange that the deprecation notices aren't context-dependent - i.e. they don't have a different deprecation depending on if you're using the old method as a getter or a setter.
# Nov 14th, 18:40 shifat.it started
# Nov 14th, 18:40 shifat.it ok
# Nov 14th, 17:39 admad @jotpe `Time extends MutableDateTime`, `MutableDateTime extends DateTime`
# Nov 14th, 17:34 jotpe Does `Cake\I18n\Time` throw any exceptions like PHP's `DateTime` does? Found nothin in the Api
# Nov 14th, 17:23 jotpe ty @dereuromark
# Nov 14th, 17:23 jotpe Ay sorry, was just to stupid to google the correct way :slightly_smiling_face:
# Nov 14th, 17:22 dereuromark Time class, not helper
# Nov 14th, 17:21 jotpe What is the correct use of the TimeHelper in a Controller again?
# Nov 14th, 17:20 dereuromark that said: cake is still compatible to windows usually just fine.
# Nov 14th, 17:20 dereuromark many of us use docker though, or at least cakebox. especially on windows you usually want a unix OS to run your websites.

# Nov 14th, 17:04 want_to Hello
# Nov 14th, 15:18 admad good to hear
# Nov 14th, 15:17 admad in 3.x it would have been silent and you would still not have figured out what was the source of the problem
# Nov 14th, 15:17 kevin.pfeifer the only problems I had with cakephp 4 were fixed very fast after I submitted the issue on the githbu repo. Everything else works like a charm like in cakephp 3
# Nov 14th, 15:17 admad the strict typing in 4.x should help spot problems early
# Nov 14th, 15:16 admad @kevin.pfeifer it's good to hear feedback on 4.x nonetheless
# Nov 14th, 15:12 admad good to know. maybe not for you but us at least :P
# Nov 14th, 15:11 kevin.pfeifer there seems to be a problem with the session mamagenemnt on my server side, therefore no CakePHP problem. Sorry^^
# Nov 14th, 15:10 kevin.pfeifer ah no the success flash
# Nov 14th, 15:10 slackebot1 <kevin.pfeifer>
# Nov 14th, 15:10 kevin.pfeifer the delete operation of my controller
# Nov 14th, 15:08 admad what's on `CategoriesController.php:126` ?
# Nov 14th, 15:05 kevin.pfeifer well no it cant be the Flash Component since i get a Flash after creating a new entry. Seems i got a permission problem with my PHP _SESSION
# Nov 14th, 14:57 kevin.pfeifer the strange thing is, the deletion is done corretly and my entry is gone but i dont get the "your entry has been deleted" message. Probably something with the flashcomponent?

# Nov 14th, 14:46 kevin.pfeifer Quick Question: I just tested my CakePHP 4 instance on my live server and i get the following message when i try to delete any entry inside any table. ``` Argument 1 passed to Cake\Http\Session::_overwrite() must be of the type array, null given, called in /var/www/my_tool/webvol/vendor/cakephp/cakephp/src/Http/Session.php on line 485 ``` This happens on all my controllers inside the delete action. Any ideas?
# Nov 14th, 14:42 sumitsehgal What can be the best schema for making schedule based todos. And tasks can be recurring in nature.. Like daily, monthly, weekly,  2nd and 4th days of the week etc... ?
# Nov 14th, 14:00 alexmax ughhhhhh, I'm not calling the parent constructor, that's why
# Nov 14th, 13:52 alexmax I have an old form that overrides `_buildValidator` and it validates just fine in 3.5. However, when upgrading to 3.8, the form now always passes validation. I suppose I can just change the validation method to the new one, but is the old one completely breaking intentional? Usually Cake just warns me about deprecated stuff but it continues working.
# Nov 14th, 13:27 scuadra Hello. I have the following issue. I am using this plugin (https://github.com/UseMuffin/Slug) to create slug for my products. But I want to use both `id` and `title` as `displayField`. Since the `id` field is not present when the slug is build I got an error and cannot save my records. Is it possible somehow to make this work or I should remove `id` from `displayField`?
