# At Username Text
# Today, 11:01 challgren WYSIWYG more or less
# Today, 10:48 neon1024 Like a person designer?
# Today, 09:23 challgren Anyone know of a decent email HTML designer?
# Today, 09:06 neon1024 So I’m going to try and overwrite the templates in the configuration
# Today, 09:05 neon1024 I have opened an issue about it for discussion, but I need to resolve my ticket in the meantime as a discussion and release will be too slow
# Today, 09:05 neon1024 They didn’t, it’s an optional class which has been, in my opinion, mistakenly implemented into the templates in the plugin
# Today, 08:53 challgren When did they get rid of the labels? In the BS4 version?
# Today, 08:52 neon1024 Great, be right back! Replacing ALL my selects with javascript! :face_palm:
# Today, 08:51 challgren https://select2.org/
# Today, 08:51 challgren Ohh yeah
# Today, 08:51 neon1024 How’d you do that for a `<select>` :thinking_face:
# Today, 08:50 challgren What about placeholder?
# Today, 08:49 graziel they can always use 'inspect element'
# Today, 08:49 challgren Ohh wussies! They’ll get over it! :P
# Today, 08:49 neon1024 Which has confused my admin team because none of the filter fields have any labels now
# Today, 08:48 neon1024 A change was made which hides all inline form labels
# Today, 08:48 neon1024 No, that’s already been done.
# Today, 08:48 challgren @neon1024 Are you making it support BS4????
# Today, 08:46 neon1024 Busy trying to fix bootstrap-ui helper
# Today, 08:46 graziel its ok for me, have you tried clearing cache? ;)
# Today, 08:40 neon1024 Very slow for me and throwing page unavailable occasionally
# Today, 08:40 hmic What's up with GH?
# Today, 08:28 neon1024 Oh no! RIP Github
# Today, 07:27 neon1024 Morning all :wave:
# Yesterday, 18:59 prev.aurelien Thanks for any help!
# Yesterday, 18:59 prev.aurelien Hi! I'm working with a plugin for a cms made with cake php and I'm getting a problem. When I make a post request with a form, all is going right. But, when I make a post request with a raw json body, when I echo this value it returns it but when I try to get the content, it redirects me to the home page. Here is my code : https://paste.hynity.com/view/38ea46b1 The function is the authenticate() one.
# Yesterday, 18:08 xavier83ar thanks!
# Yesterday, 17:46 admad @xavier83ar 1. take a look at cakedc/users for example of how to manage config. 2. Take a look at bake to see how to handle plugin dependency. Bake depends on twigview plugin
# Yesterday, 16:44 xavier83ar Hi guys, I'm making some cakephp plugins (for cakephp 3.6+) and I'm facing to issues (or decisions): 1.- configs: What's the recommended way to do plugin configurations?, in order to provide some nice defaults but allowing the app to configure most of the plugin's behaviors 2.- dependencies: Some plugins depends on others. I can handle the install (require) part with composer, but then them have to be loaded. I found a way to check in
# Yesterday, 16:44 slackebot plugin A if plugin B is loaded and thrown and exception if not, but the question is: Is there a way to load plugin B from plugin A? is this a good thing? or is better just throwing a exception and let the developer take care of it?
# Yesterday, 16:22 manthan.budheliya Guys, anybody have idea?
# Yesterday, 16:22 neothermic Might throw 7.4's current state against the tests and see what breaks vs 7.3
# Yesterday, 16:21 niel45 and January, and maybe Feb too :-)
# Yesterday, 16:20 slackebot Action: neothermic adds this to her todo list for December
# Yesterday, 16:18 dereuromark if you get the tests to pass, nothing blocks the PR
# Yesterday, 16:18 neothermic I'm sure you're itching to strike down cake2 from support :)
# Yesterday, 16:18 neothermic Well, it's one thing to make the PR, the other half would be if it gets accepted :P
# Yesterday, 16:17 dereuromark come on, you should know better than to ask this :slightly_smiling_face:
# Yesterday, 16:17 dereuromark if you make the PR
# Yesterday, 16:17 neothermic If 7.4 drops before 4.x does, will 7.4 be added to the supported PHP versions of cake2? :P
# Yesterday, 16:16 neothermic @neon1024 ahh, smart idea
# Yesterday, 16:13 manthan.budheliya @beakman I have implemented same way, but still my toDatabase function is not called.
# Yesterday, 16:03 manthan.budheliya Hey @admad are you around?
# Yesterday, 14:46 neon1024 https://github.com/cakephp/cakephp/blob/2.x/.travis.yml
# Yesterday, 14:46 neon1024 Have a look in Travis
# Yesterday, 14:45 neothermic Question about PHP7 and cakephp2, what's the highest supported PHP version for cake2? :slightly_smiling_face:
# Yesterday, 13:58 neon1024 Yeah, I think you’re right. As I figure if you pass the wrong data you’d want to know
# Yesterday, 13:46 junker37 I'd say throw an exception. I'm of the opinion it's better to blow-up early and often, otherwise it seems to hide issues
# Yesterday, 13:45 neon1024 Speaking of custom data types, I can’t decide if a value fails to cast to my chosen value if I should return null or throw an exception
# Yesterday, 13:43 junker37 perfect, thx!
# Yesterday, 13:43 neon1024 https://book.cakephp.org/3.0/en/orm/saving-data.html#saving-complex-types
# Yesterday, 13:42 neon1024 Yeah, you configure it in the schema
# Yesterday, 13:42 junker37 thanks @neon1024 Do you specify the field type in the Table class?
# Yesterday, 13:39 neon1024 https://book.cakephp.org/3.0/en/orm/database-basics.html#data-types
# Yesterday, 13:39 neon1024 @junker37 Use the built-in Json data type
# Yesterday, 13:39 junker37 In my database table, I have a text field which is a json string. In the entity I json_decode the field so that it's an object and not a string. However, I'm running into an issue when trying to save the entity to the database. It is also pulling the json_decoded value and not the string. Is there a way to differentiate between representation and storage of the data?
# Yesterday, 12:50 k4t thx
# Yesterday, 12:48 admad @val I dont remember @k4t none that i know of apart from logging them yourself
# Yesterday, 12:46 k4t @admad is there an easy way to log also catched exceptions?
# Yesterday, 12:45 val @admad so Log::info behaves differently in cake 3.x than in cake 2.x?
# Yesterday, 12:39 admad it will be logged only if it reaches the error handler, which wont be the case if you catch it
# Yesterday, 12:37 k4t hi, maybe a bit stupid question. When I catch an exception in CakePHP it won't be logged, yes?
# Yesterday, 11:54 val Hi, does `Log::info($message);` in Cake 3.x is supposed to output to the console like `CakeLog::info($message);` does in Cake 2.x?
# Yesterday, 11:10 neon1024 Creating a custom data type class, the `toDatabase()` method should be casting values right? But the parent Type class method implements the deprecated `_basicTypeCast` method, but if I update my own class with a typehint I get a method signature mismatch. How should I be coping with the deprecation?
# Yesterday, 10:31 neon1024 From the core I guess?
# Yesterday, 10:31 neon1024 I’m starting a new plugin, which tests/bootstrap.php file is the one to copy?
# Yesterday, 09:42 challgren And tendon surgery wa a success!! 95% reattached won’t have feeling in my finger
# Yesterday, 09:41 challgren @kieran.bowler you probably need some JS help to keep the input to a fixed Length aka `parseFloat($('#price').val()).toFixed(2)`
# Yesterday, 09:23 ZoeB Hi! Is there a way to log database queries to files in CakePHP 2.0? I'm trying to extend Mysql and its logQuery method to do so, which works in debug mode 2, but I need to do it in live mode 0 as well.
# Yesterday, 09:12 kieran.bowler :thumbsup: @neon1024
# Yesterday, 09:11 kieran.bowler Thanks a lot
# Yesterday, 09:11 kieran.bowler Brill, that did it :slightly_smiling_face: `<?= $this->Form->control('price', ['type' => 'number', 'label' => ['text' => 'Price <span class="note">£</span>', 'escape' => false], 'step' => '0.10', 'value' => number_format( $product->price, 2)]); ?>`
# Yesterday, 09:09 neon1024 Yes, number format! Cast to string :flushed:
# Yesterday, 09:09 kieran.bowler Oooh ok I'll try that
# Yesterday, 09:08 kieran.bowler Can `number_format` be used in the form helper
# Yesterday, 09:08 neon1024 `'value' => number_format($item->get('price', 2)`
# Yesterday, 09:08 neon1024 Or just use `number_format()`?
# Yesterday, 09:08 neon1024 Also, is the value `1.1` or `1.10`? You might need to cast it to a string instead of float
# Yesterday, 09:08 kieran.bowler It's not so much that @neon1024 It's more to do with the full 2 decimal place number displaying
# Yesterday, 09:07 neon1024 Or do you only want rounded to nearest 10p
# Yesterday, 09:07 neon1024 So it can go up in individual pennies?
# Yesterday, 09:07 neon1024 @kieran.bowler Did you try `'step' => '0.01'` ?
# Yesterday, 09:04 kieran.bowler Any help much appreciated
# Yesterday, 09:04 kieran.bowler There's nothing in https://book.cakephp.org/3.0/en/views/helpers/form.html
# Yesterday, 09:01 neon1024 Thanks for looking into the issue with bake :clap:
# Yesterday, 09:01 neon1024 Sorry @dereuromark I must have missed it!
# Yesterday, 09:00 dereuromark @neon1024 I use it to reach phpstan 7 in some plugins. but also in general as safe handler.
# Yesterday, 08:57 kieran.bowler The value is `1.10` in the database too
# Yesterday, 08:57 kieran.bowler I can't find anything in the docs
# Yesterday, 08:57 kieran.bowler Hi all, I'm having trouble getting this to render as `1.10` Here is the code `<?= $this->Form->control('price', ['type' => 'number', 'label' => ['text' => 'Price <span class="note">£</span>', 'escape' => false], 'step' => '0.10']); ?>`
# Yesterday, 08:56 dereuromark morning, I send you sth yesterday in terms of controller request handling
# Yesterday, 08:37 neon1024 Hey everyone :wave:
# Yesterday, 07:54 luisdelamo @admad right
# Yesterday, 07:39 manthan.budheliya Sorry @admad I was out of reach that day I will share things today
# Yesterday, 07:24 welo.lamacchia ahah OK :slightly_smiling_face:
# Yesterday, 07:24 admad I am not going to respond to questions relating to basic PHP :slightly_smiling_face:
# Yesterday, 07:23 welo.lamacchia it's correct?
# Yesterday, 07:23 welo.lamacchia method_exists($event->getSubject(), 'afterSave')
# Yesterday, 07:22 admad method_exists()
# Yesterday, 07:22 welo.lamacchia @admad how i can check if table has afterSave method declared ?
